Interior gut renovation — Glebe townhouse
Glebe, Ottawa — 2008
Project scope
Near-complete interior gut of a century-old Glebe townhouse. Room reconfiguration, two new bathrooms, master bedroom, new plumbing/electrical/HVAC, gas fireplace, and floor levelling — a 5-month transformation respecting the character of a heritage home.
The challenge
A near-complete interior gut of a century-old Glebe townhouse — one of Ottawa's most character-rich but structurally challenging neighborhoods. The footprint and roofline couldn't change, which meant every solution had to work within the existing structure's quirks. The homeowner was away from the site most of the time.
Our approach
Daniel created a plan that worked with the existing structure's character rather than fighting it. Creative solutions addressed floor levelling, room reconfiguration, and the integration of two new bathrooms. The project was completed just a few days past the original deadline — remarkable for a gut renovation of this complexity. The client's trust was earned through consistent communication and reliability.

"He was able to come back to me with a plan that worked well with the sometimes quirky elements of the existing structure."
"Mr. Gauthier is highly trustworthy, which was very important to me because I was away from the site most of the time."
