Foundation repair & garage addition
Ottawa, ON — August 2024
Project scope
Two projects — foundation and structural remediation on a heritage property, plus a garage addition on a personal residence. Heritage permits were involved, requiring careful coordination with the city.
The challenge
Two separate properties, two different projects: a foundation and structural remediation on a heritage building, and a garage addition on a personal residence. The heritage property involved navigating city permits, working with structural engineers, and managing arborists — all while preserving the building's character.
Our approach
Daniel managed both projects simultaneously, acting as liaison between the city, subtrades, engineers, and the architect. The open-book approach meant the client never worried about hidden costs. Heritage-specific permits were handled directly, removing stress from the homeowner entirely.
What the client said
"Having a contractor that is solution oriented made the process easier to work with and because it was open book, I, as the payor did not have to worry about any costs."
"He made dealing with the city and the permits, especially with the heritage nature of the renovation/addition, alleviated any stress."
