Elevator & walk-in shower
Ottawa, ON — April 2025
Project scope
Home elevator installation (Stiltz) and accessible walk-in shower for Parkinson's adaptation. The project included ceramic tile bathroom work, a spacious walk-in shower, and grab bars for accessibility.
The challenge
This project required both a residential elevator shaft and an accessible walk-in shower — two highly specialized installations in a single home. The client's husband has Parkinson's, making precision and safety non-negotiable. The work demanded expertise in engineering, plumbing, and electrical systems simultaneously.
Our approach
Daniel worked directly with the Stiltz Home Elevator company as their expert contractor, coordinating the shaft construction with the accessible shower build. Every detail was planned around the client's daily needs — from grab bar placement to shower bench height. The team arrived early every day and worked overtime when needed to minimize disruption.
What the client said
"In his eyes, nothing is insurmountable. His motto is: 'There are always solutions.'"
"More than the builder of elevator shafts, Daniel is a man of multiple abilities — engineering, plumbing, and electrical skills."
"His rates are very reasonable because he delights in his creations."
